CASA JULIÁN DE TOLOSA – MADRID

This very traditional, yet modern space, set by Lázaro Rosa Violán, has a grill visible to the guests which is identical to that of Casa Julián in Tolosa. The old cow Tx Steak and the classic piquillo peppers, prepared according to the Gorrotxategi technique, can be found in a menu where seasonal vegetables stand out, with the leek playing a leading role.

AMPARITO ROCA – MADRID – A memory of good taste

One of our last discoveries in Madrid; an elegant place with an exceptional service & decoration.

Jesús Velasco, the Master and Commander of AMPARITO ROCA, is always on the top of the things with a very nice sense of humour and always sympathetic enough to give dary opinions about your meal orders if he considers better any other combinations.

Broad & spaceful tables with plentiful natural light creating a laid back atmosphere is highly recommended for business-lunch venues.

The restaurant name is taken out from a traditional dance/song -Pasadoble- called “Amparito Roca” (the name of a lady). There are just a few concrete walls in the dining room; and one of them is decorated with this lady’s picture.

The restaurant offers a cuisine which appeals every day and of which you never get tired.

A simple sea-food salad “salpicón de carabinero” is a good example of how surprisingly simple things can taste.

Despite it might seem slightly costy, we find it really worth it.

    BACIRA Chamberí : COLORFOOD & TASTEFOOD !

Yes, we mean colorful & tasteful.

The delicate platters to share at BACIRA restaurant are small pieces of visual art which could well be a composition for a nice cooking book…the type of dishes which you enjoy to contemplate before eating, talk about before eating, and why not, share by Instagram with friends.

Creative combinations of raw seafood & seaweed (sushi/Mediterranean fusion) in a hidden small restaurant at the Chamberí quarter of Madrid.

Restaurant BACIRA offers a very relaxed & casual atmopshere. Best in the ground-floor; (its basement is not as charming). Waitress really helpful and kind.

Definitely a good choice for a non pretencious dinner or lunch.

    RESTAURANT LUA, MADRID

LUA is a 1 Star Michellin restaurant that nicely surprised us a few years ago and still remains as on of our favourite picks in Madrid.

Its nice atmosphere, decorative motifs and fine food has some reminiscence to the gracious Galician countryside.
